Gunmen kill 4, injured 2 in Jos



It was tragic at Rantis village near kura falls, Barkin Ladi local government of Plateau state  late on Monday as four members of Mr. Joil Pam’s family including his wife and three children were killed by unidentified gunmen.
Two other members of the village escaped the attack with gun wounds following the attack which took place at about 7pm.
It was learnt that some unknown gunmen, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen invaded Rantis village near Kurra Falls in Barakin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau to carry out the attack.
The gunmen numbering 8 shot sporadically to scare the villagers as they headed staight to the compound of Mr. Pam where they killed his wife and three children but Mr Pam managed to escape.
Among those killed were Joil Pam, his wife, Jemimah, 4-year old and Gepter, 2. Those injures were Susanna and Alfa, and are said to be receiving treatment and the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, Jos, and Barakin Ladi General Hospital, respectively.
It was gathered that the victims were given mass burial on Tuesday.
Spokesman of the Special Task Force, Capt. Salisu Mustapha, who confirmed the incident said that the area has been fortified by men of the task force.
He said, “We received the report of the attack and immediately mobilized our men to the area. Right now, the area is calm and people are going about their normal businesses.
